FY10 Jubilee Association Board of Directors

July 13^th was the first Jubilee Association Board meeting of FY10.  Two new Board members Karen Lehman and Bill Swenson attended their first meeting as full members of the Board.  Karen is the Executive Director of Friends House Retirement Community in Sandy Spring Maryland and a member of the Hyattsville Mennonite Church.  Bill Swenson is father to Charlie, who receives services from Jubilee, and Vice President of Inclusion Research Institute and the Center for Disability and Special Needs Preparedness.

Larry Smucker is the new Board President, Donna Fluke is the new Board Vice President, Becca Walawender continues as Board Treasurer and Althea Wallace is the new Board Secretary.  Appreciation was expressed to Joyce Lipman who served as Board President for the past three years.

As part of its annual evaluation of Executive Director Tim Wiens, the Board had indicated that it wanted to become more familiar with other Jubilee management staff. A board and management staff mixer was planned to partly meet that need.  In addition to visiting and eating together, management staff were asked to share their role at Jubilee, their two favorite things about working at Jubilee and two things they do for fun.  Board members were asked to say how they spend their time during the day and two things they do for fun.  Everyone had fun mixing and getting to know each other on this Monday night in July.
